~Altered Thurzdaze~ new biweekly in Indianapolis

Indymojo.com and G-9 Collective bring you something a little different....

~Altered Thurzdaze~

- A new bi-weekly featuring dubstep and other broken beats beginning August 5th.

** NO COVER ** and cheap drinks!

August 5th Lineup:

*Psynapse
Indymojo // G-9 Collective // Juxtapoze

Nicknamed "Dubstep Jesus", this messiah is arguably the most prolific Dubstep DJ in Indianapolis. A Juztapoze regular, Psynapse likes to lead his congregation through a web of dirty bass-lines and womp wobbles that can convert even the casual listener into a fan. This is the kid who destroyed the Bassnectar after party at Red Room! Do not miss this!

*Sea Monkey
Induceonline.com

Sea Monkey is a primarily Drum & Bass and Dubstep DJ. However, he tends to focus on the fringe elements of these genres, incorporating many styles of music that may leave listeners with a new definition of these familiar labels. Sea Monkey is going to start us off with a special 2-hour down tempo set!

*Hollow Point
Mad Girl

Drum&Bass/Dubstep DJ Hollow Point is making moves and rising through the ranks of Indianapolis's elite bass-heavy DJs. His style makes sure to keep the audience moving with thick basslines and he always has something for everyone. Now teamed up with Mad Girl Promotions, the sky's the limit for this dancefloor-friendly DJ. Catch him every week on his online radio show, Wednesday nights at 9pm ET hosted by www.boost.fm

*Kodama
Indymojo // G-9 Collective

Prior to his life in Indianapolis, Kodama was a tree spirit, much like the ones from Princess Mononoke - spinning great beats and entertaining the many creatures of the forest. From sexy dubstep to electro house, you never know what Kodama has in store for the masses.

Re: ~Altered Thurzdaze~ new biweekly in Indianapolis

Updated info.

Yeah, should be a lot of fun. Something a little different, cheap, and a whole new crowd to wrangle into the scene.

The Mousetrap is primarily a jam band bar, so dubstep makes sense there for now. We'll see what happens as it grows.

August 19th:

For those who got a taste of the madness on August 5th, you already know. If you missed out, be sure to pop in on the 19th and see what you missed!

w/special guests:

*Gizzmo
SUBterror

After emerging from the comet that brought him to earth Gizzmo found a pair of turntables. Little did the people of Earth know that their world had changed. From that point on he proceeded to tackle any form of decent electronic music (i.e. NO TRANCE) and perfect the mixing of it. He can be found anywhere there are Subarus racing or Beats bumping. DO NOT get him wet and DO NOT feed him after midnight. We also don't suggest making eye to eye contact with him while he's playing as the energy coming from his brain may reduce you to a pile of dust.

*King Swagger
Juxtapoze // Paranoid Inc.

A sinewave and breakbeat enthusiast for the past 20 years, King Swagger's love for music and dj'ing finally came together with the formation of Juxtapoze, an Indianapolis based Dj/Producer collective celebrating Dj culture in all its many forms. Since its inception, King Swagger has taken his monthly residency at the Melody Inn to further hone his skills and wow the crowds with what he feels to be the most amazing music ever, DUBSTEP!

And Altered Thurzdaze residents:

*Psynapse
Indymojo // G-9 Collective

Nicknamed "Dubstep Jesus", this messiah is arguably the most prolific Dubstep DJ in Indianapolis. A Juxtapoze regular, Psynapse likes to lead his congregation through a web of dirty bass-lines and womp wobbles that can convert even the casual listener into a fan. Through natural humility and notable talent, Psynapse has certainly made a name for himself this year playing at Underground Sound, headlining festival stages at Mojostock and Oranje, not to mention the many one-offs, after parties, and monthly/weekly residencies with Indymojo/G-9 Collective, Juxtapoze (Indy), and Perpetual Entertainment (Fort Wayne). He's not one to be taken lightly.

Indymojo.com and G-9 Collective are proud to present the next installment of Altered Thurzdaze at the Mousetrap on September 2nd!

Since each week keeps getting bigger, we decided to thank you with a special treat....

*Kaiten - Cincinnati, OH
Royal Dubs / B.A.D. Ass / Crowd Control / Next Era
http://soundcloud.com/kaiten/kaiten-sorta-live-camelot-032710

When on the decks solo Kaiten brings a wide palette of Dubstep colors to the table, from deep low end business to aggressive dancefloor burners, and recently he has returned to his roots by rinsing out classic Drum & Bass mixed with the biggest upfront tunes. With a mixing style that can be compared to none, Kaiten never stops moving while hammering the audience with track after track, splicing in double drops and turntablist techniques whenever the moment calls for it. When combined with Elton Mack and MC Firecat 451, they form like Voltron as Royal Sound System, and destroy dancefloors with a unique combination of Dubstep and Breakbeats that guarantees to the keep the crowd moving.

While currently hosting the monthly Pressure event series at the Mockbee in conjunction with Bunk Spot Promotions, Kaiten also is a resident and intergral part of Crowd Control's weekly Fresh Fridays events at Adis' Place.

*Shiva - Indianapolis
Subterror // Surface Tension

For 15 years, Indianapolis techno mainstay DJ Shiva has brought a multitude of techno flavors to dancefloors nationwide. From electro to minimal, Chicago Jack to Detroit soul, the deepest to the hardest techno, her attention deficit disorder requires variety in both music and technique.

With her foray into the realm of dubstep, the same rules (or lack of them) apply. From straight up chest rattling bangers to skeletonized exercises in minimal dub to bits and pieces of electro , garage and techno, it's all in the mix. Utilizing over a decade of experience on the ones and twos, combined with the flexibility and creative possiblities of re-edits, on-the-fly looping and added effects and beats, Shiva brings a fresh approach to both the techno and dubstep palette.

With her DJ sets, her releases, and her role as co-owner of Surface Tension Recordings, Shiva is determined not only to spread the eclectic sounds of dubstep and techno to new audiences, but to quite possibly live in a subwoofer someday.

On September 16th, just 2 days before Oranje, Indymojo.com and G-9 Collective are proud to bring you a very special edition of Altered Thurzdaze.

** $15 tickets to Oranje will be available for purchase during this event - Cash Only please (Regular Price - $20) **

Featuring:

Manic vs. Dave Owen (Oranje performers)
Creative Source // Influence // Keepin it Deep // Juxtapoze

A Midwest Motivator, Manic is best known for the sexy, soulful side of drum & bass. The only Drum and Bass resident at Blu's "Keepin it Deep" in Indianapolis, Manic woos house music fans with his exquisite top-shelf track selection, seamlessly fused through meticulous mixing. This man puts the work-out back in the dance floor.

With more support and upcoming releases than can be mentioned, Dave Owen is quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in drum-n-bass; just go ask LTJ Bukem, Grooverider, or Fabio, whom all drop Dave's tunes on the regular. The young producer's style blends hip-hop and old soul samples w/ crisp drums to create a sound that is truly unique. Between a number of smaller releases and his massive 12" on Influence, Dave has dominated the DnB charts for the past few months. Watch for much more to come from this musical savant.

Rudy Kizer (Oranje Performer)
X103 // Indymojo // G-9 Collective
(*Special Dubstep/Broken Beats Set*)

Scorching the airwaves every week on his "Hit The Decks" radio show, Rudy Kizer has been a champion of music and artists as a DJ and producer for over 20 years now. Coming of age in the Chicago area, he was inspired by the legendary "Hot Mix 5" radio mixers and started spinning records in his bedroom. As his skills developed, he began performing various mobile and club gigs, often slipping in house music classics he heard from the radio. While at Purdue University, Rudy got his own turn on the air at WCCR, playing an eclectic format for a discriminating college audience. An engineering student, his interests soon progressed from DJ to producer. He started a multimedia production company during the late '90s internet boom and produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered a wide array of sessions, including band and vocalist demos, electronic musician projects, and video soundtracks. From 2000-2006, he was a contributor and the primary producer for WRZX’s "Planet X" radio program (hosted by Jonathan Keith). He assisted in hosting Planet X's "SPACE" events at Eden nightclub, bringing some of the hottest national and international DJ talent to perform in Indianapolis for the first time. As a DJ himself, Rudy has opened for Paul Van Dyk, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Icey, and many others. His seasoned ear for good music and years of eclectic programming experience informs his floor-moving mix of electro-house, breaks, dubstep, and drum-and-bass. Rudy is the host and producer of "Hit The Decks," an alternative dance program on WRZX, Sundays from 10 p.m. till 12 midnight.
